Bill Murray wants Melissa McCarthy for 'Ghostbusters 3'.

The 'Lost In Translation' actor - who was an original Ghostbuster alongside Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and Harold Ramis in the 1980s movies - has said that he would like to see the 'Bridesmaids' actress star in a female-led sequel to the original films.

Bill told the Toronto Star: ''Melissa would be a spectacular Ghostbuster. And Kristen Wiig is so funny - God, she's funny!''

The 63-year-old features with the 'Bridesmaids' actress in the new movie 'St. Vincent' which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival over the weekend.

Not content with just Melissa and Kristen, Bill also stated that he wished to see 'Easy A' actress Emma Stone in a sequel, if it were to happen.

He added: ''I like this girl Linda Cardellini (Mad Men) a lot. And Emma Stone is funny. There are some funny girls out there.''

Father-of-six, Bill, then joked that a female-centric 'Ghostbusters' film would be better because the ladies would have nicer costumes than the all-in-one overalls worn by his character Dr. Peter Venkman in the original movies.

He quipped: ''I'm fine with it. I would go to that movie, and they'd probably have better outfits, too.''
