Actor Bill Murray helped David Letterman celebrate the 20th anniversary of his U.S. late night show LATE SHOW WITH David Letterman by destroying his stage and singing I Will Always Love You.

The Ghostbusters star, who donned a Liberace outfit for his appearance on the programme, sat down with Letterman on Thursday (29Aug13) to help the host commemorate the anniversary of his guest spot on the show's first episode, and then dug up the stage with a construction pick and jack hammer to find a "time capsule" he "buried there 20 years ago."

In the capsule he found an old New York Post newspaper that touted a one-on-one interview with Letterman's late-night Tv rival Jay Leno, an old toupee that Murray claimed Letterman wore on the first show, a photo of the two friends and a Billboard magazine from 1993.

The Lost in Translation then belted out Whitney Houston's I Will Always Love You, which was America's number one when he first appeared on the show, to close out his appearance.
