The ex-statesman set the challenge - aimed at the baby boom generation - in the New Yorks Time Magazine.
Under the theme 'Twistin' the Oldies', it was packed with pop-culture references to the 1960s and 1970s.
The website's crossword editor forewarned, "The clues in this puzzle are a little more playful and involve more wordplay than in a typical crossword. You have been warned."
