Former Big Brother star Jade Goody has died of cervical cancer at the age of 27 in the early hours of Mother's Day, it has been announced.
Her publicist Max Clifford confirmed that Goody had lost her long-running battle with the disease, which she was diagnosed with last year.
Goody died at her home in Upshire, Essex, at 03:14 GMT with her mother Jackiey Budden and husband Jack Tweed at her side.
She had been treated at the Royal Marsden Hospital in west London but was moved to her home in order to spend time with her family, including her two sons, Bobby, five, and Freddy, four.
Speaking outside the family home, Ms Budden said: "My beautiful daughter is at peace."
Goody has been credited with raising the profile of cervical cancer throughout her struggle - signing book deals and doing interviews, despite suffering from a terminal decline in her health.
And in spite of her daughter's efforts, Goody's mother added: "Family and friends would like privacy at last."
