A contestant on Australia's new Big Brother reality TV contest stunned viewers on Sunday (14JUN04) when he staged a silent protest after he was voted off the show.
MERLIN LUCK, 24, sat in silence with his mouth taped shut during a post-show interview - to protest at the detention of asylum seekers in Australia.
The live non-interview left Big Brother host GRETEL KILLEEN speechless.
Luck also held a poster that read 'Free th (corr) refugees'.
Luck had spent six weeks locked in the house with other contestants before his eviction. His actions have been praised by fellow protestors.16/06/2004 02:37
