The bosses of Australia's Big Brother reality TV show have been left red-faced after they wrongly voted off a contestant from the programme.
LEGION INTERACTIVE, the company responsible for counting the phone and SMS votes, took responsibility for Sunday's (04JUL04) erroneous eviction of housemate BREE.
Legion Interactive chief executive DAVID BURDEN admits a number of votes were missed off the tally and Bree should have remained in the Queensland enclosure.
Burden says, "Last night we dropped the ball. We disappointed Big Brother and we disappointed viewers at home."
Producers ENDEMOL SOUTHERN STAR gave Bree permission to re-enter the house, under strict conditions, after she spent Sunday night with her friends and family.
Big Brother executive producer KRIS NOBLE explains, "The most important thing is human error cannot be allowed to deprive Bree of her chance to win the AUS$1,000,000 (GBP711,650/GBP395,000) prize."05/07/2004 17:19
