Biffy Clyro singer Simon Neil was forced to take to the stage for a solo gig in Boston, Massachusetts on Monday (13Sep10) after his bandmates were held in the U.K. over a work visa mix-up.
The rockers revealed at last week's (07Sep10) Mercury Prize ceremony they were in the process of obtaining visas ahead of their forthcoming tour.
But due to unforeseen circumstances the band was unable to fly out for its first gig of the trek on Monday - only Neil was allowed into the U.S.
The rockers were determined not to disappoint fans, and Neil put on a free acoustic gig to make up for the cancelled show.
A post on the band's website reads, "Unfortunately Biffy Clyro will not be performing in Boston due to immigration/visa delays in London.
"However, Simon Neil of Biffy Clyro is here and will be performing several songs acoustically. All tickets will be refunded and admittance will be free of charge. The members of Biffy Clyro sincerely apologise to everyone for this unforeseen occurrence."
