JAY-Z was joined onstage by wife Beyonce and Kanye West, during his show at the Yankee Stadium last night (13th September 2010). The rapper was sharing a twin billing with Eminem at the concert, which was the stadium's first gig since its opening last year. Jay-Z delighted the crowd during his set, at one stage telling them, "I gotta tell y'all it's one of the most wonderful things being here tonight, being from New York City and being in Yankee Stadium", reports Billboard.
Both acts were joined onstage by a number of special guests, with Eminem calling upon D-12, 50 Cent, and Dr Dre, and the Roc Nation boss introducing BEYONCE, Coldplay'S CHRIS MARTIN, KANYE WEST, and Nicki Minaj to the sold out crowd. Delivering some of his biggest hits including '99 Problems' and 'Hard Knock Life', Jay-Z wowed the audience at the baseball stadium, and both headline acts also performed together for the song 'Renegade'.
Eminem's new album 'Recovery', sold over 700,000 copies in its first week of release, and immediately topped the Billboard 200 chart. His first single, 'Not Afraid', debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, and second single 'Love the Way You Lie', also reached the top spot. JAY-Z's latest studio album was 2009's 'The Blueprint 3', which gave the rapper his eleventh US number-one album, breaking the record he had previously shared with Elvis Presley.
