Beyonce, the First Lady of Pop Music, has penned an open letter to Michelle Obama, The First Lady of the United States of America, to express her admiration and respect for her. The letter, which has been scanned and posted on Beyonce's website, describes Mrs Obama as "the ULTIMATE example of a truly strong African American woman."

The 'Independent Woman' singer went on to explain "She is a caring mother, she is a loving wife, while at the same time, she is the FIRST LADY!!!!" Beyonce, who recently became a mother herself for the first time, continued "No matter the pressure and the stress of being under the microscope - she's humble, loving and sincere. She builds and nurtures her family, while also looking out for so many millions in so many ways." She goes on to address the end of her letter directly to Michelle Obama, saying "Michelle, thank you for every single thing that you do for us - I am proud to have my daughter grow up in a world where she has people like you, to look up to. Love, Beyonce." Beyonce is referring to her new-born baby, Blue Ivy Carter, who was born on January 7, 2012.

It would seem that there's a lot of love flowing between the Obama and Carter camps. When asked recently if he preferred Jay Z (Blue Ivy's father) or fellow rapper Kanye West, Barack Obama replied, unequivocally, "Jay Z." Obama went on to explain that he thought West was a "jackass," though admitted that he was "talented."
