Beyonce and Lady GaGa will battle it out as the queens of the MTV Video Music Awards after landing nine nominations apiece - and they're both thrilled by the honour.
Both singers will compete for Video of The Year and Best Female Video prizes at the 13 September (09) event in New York.
Beyonce says, "I'm excited and honoured to be tied for most nominated for the VMAs. I've been blessed this year to have (hit) Single Ladies become a video people really connected with and responded to."
And Lady GaGa, who is currently on tour in Japan, adds, "I'm really, really grateful. My friends and I have been working so hard for so long to make work that we really believe in... We're so honoured to have all these nominations."
The Best Female Video category at the VMAs is shaping up to be the toughest, with GaGa and Beyonce battling with Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson, Pink and Taylor Swift.
