Beyonce doesn't really have to prove to anyone still doubting that she is genuinely pregnant - the news over the weekend that she and Jay Z are now the proud parents of Blue Ivy proving pretty insurmountable to even the most cynical of hacks. Reaction to the birth has been huge, with celebrities and fans alike taking to various forms of social networking to wish the newborn and her parents the best.

Gwyneth Paltrow was among the well -wishers, tweeting, "Welcome to the world Blue! We love you already" and pop princess Rihanna who wrote "Welcome to the world princess Carter! Love Aunty Rih". Although the girl has been on the planet for less than a week, talk has inevitably turned to how she'll grow up to follow in her famous parents footsteps. The task is fairly sizeable, her mother rose to fame in the late 90s as a member of the multi-million selling girl group DESTINY'S CHILD and her stock has risen only further in a decade of performing solo, selling more than 25 million albums worldwide and scoring 12 Top 10 US Billboard Chart singles. Jay Z's career in rap music meanwhile stretches back to the early 90s and has seen the 42 year-old notch up approximately 50 million album sales as well as branching out into record label management and clothing among many other ventures.

A recent example of a child-star following her parents would be Will Smith's 11 year-old daughter Willow who can already a count a US Billboard Top 10 single and a filmography stretching back to 2007 among her fledgling career.
