Beyonce Knowles, the American R&B singer who released her new single 'Run The World (Girls)' on 24th April 2011, gave a touching shout-out to her husband Jay Z at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday (23rd May 2011). Beyonce married the 'Roc Nation' mogul in 2008 but the pair have been intensively private with their relationship since.
Beyonce has rarely spoken in-depth about her relationship with Jay Z, but the singer delighted the Mgm grand audience whilst accepting her 'Billboard Millennium Award' last night. Before wrapping up her speech, the 29-year-old added, "I want to thank my best friend...I love me some Jay Z". The camera then cut to the multi-award winning rapper who nodded and smiled lovingly from the audience. Before accepting the career-achievement honour from her mother Tina Knowles and her nephew Daniel, Beyonce was the subject of a promo video featuring legends such as Barbra Streisand, Bono and the First Lady Michelle Obama. Lady GaGa also appeared in the short clip, telling Beyonce, "You represent the dream", while Stevie Wonder noted, "Beyonce's made history and she's not even 30 yet".
'Run the World (Girls) is the first single from Beyonce's highly anticipated fourth studio album '4', which is scheduled for release this summer.
