Bette Midler has been cast as the attorney who tried to keep music mogul Phil Spector out of jail in a new TV movie.
The singer/actress will join Jeffrey Tambor and Al Pacino in the untitled project, which has been written and will be directed by David Mamet.
Midler will play Linda Kenney Baden, Tambor Bruce Cutler and Pacino will portray Spector, according to Variety.
The producer was sentenced to serve 19 years to life behind bars after he was convicted of the 2003 murder of actress Lana Clarkson in 2009.
