Reality star Bethenny Frankel has quit the hit US show 'The Real Housewives of New York', and will not return when filming starts later this month, reports Britain's Daily Mail. Frankel has been part of the series since season one, but now says she's finally ready to escape the fighting and drama- she told US Magazine, "'Last season was scary and painful. It took all of the joy out of it."
The last season of the show was a roller-coaster ride for Frankel - she was engaged to be married, her health-brand 'SkinnyGirl' was beginning to take off, and she became pregnant. However, feuds with co-stars Kelly Bensimon and JILL ZARIN appear to have driven her to quit.
'The Real Housewives of New York' began as a spin-off of the series 'The Real Housewives of Orange County', and was tentatively titled 'Manhattan Moms' whilst filming was underway for the first series. The show tracks the affluent lifestyles of various woman and their families living in New York, and much of the focus centres on the relationship between Frankel and Zarin. The friendship turned sour in season three however, and the Daily Mail reports that "Jealous Zarin attempted to sabotage Frankel by asking cast-mates not to film with her".
