Irish singer Bernie Nolan has apologised to U.K. Tv presenter Lorraine Kelly for hiding her cancer battle during an interview last month (Oct12).

The Nolans star made an appearance on Kelly's morning show to promote Breast Cancer Awareness Week but failed to mention that she was facing further treatment as the disease has returned.

Weeks later, she went public with her cancer diagnosis, which came two years after doctors gave her the all-clear, and she has now apologised to Kelly for keeping the news a secret during their interview.

In a segment on the Lorraine show on Wednesday (21Nov12), Nolan told the host, "This time it is slightly different because it's a bit more serious now. It's not curable, but treatable - which is the word we hang onto. And I'm so sorry, last time I was there you asked me a question and I couldn't tell you the truth because I hadn't told my daughter so I wanted to make sure she knew before everybody else, so I'm sorry about that Lorraine."

Nolan was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010 and was later told she had beaten the disease after undergoing a mastectomy, chemotherapy, and breast reconstruction surgery.

The 52 year old is now facing another battle after medics confirmed her illness has returned and has spread to her brain, lungs, liver and bones.
