Actor Benicio Del Toro was the toast of a Latin film festival in Havana, Cuba on Sunday (07Dec14) as he was feted for his career achievements.

The Traffic star screened his new movie, Escobar: Paradise Lost, at the 36th Havana International New Latin American Film Festival and was lauded by organisers as he was presented with the Coral of Honor Award.

Speaking before the ceremony, a flattered Del Toro said, "It's hard to put into words what it means to me that a festival with such a high quality and history like this one is giving me a prize."

The career accolade is the second festival honour for Del Toro in just three months - he was the recipient of the Donostia Lifetime Achievement Award at the San Sebastian International Film Festival in Spain in September (14).
