Benedict Cumberbatch's Tv drama Parade's End looks set to dominate Britain's upcoming Broadcasting Press Guild Awards after landing five top nominations.

Cumberbatch and his co-star Roger Allam are both tipped in the Best Actor category, and will go head-to-head with Ben Whishaw (Richard Ii and The Hour) and Peter Capaldi (The Thick Of It and The Hour).

Rebecca Hall is nominated for Best Actress for her role in the World War I drama, but she faces tough competition from Olivia Colman, (Accused and Twenty Twelve) Anna Chancellor (Pramface and The Hour), Maxine Peake (Silk and Room At The Top) and Sienna Miller, who is tipped for her portrayal of Tippi Hedren in Tv movie The Girl.

Parade's End is also named in the Best Drama Series category, alongside Last Tango in Halifax, Line of Duty and Sherlock, while its screenplay creator Tom Stoppard is nominated for the Writer's Award.

The winners will be revealed during a prizegiving in London on 14 March (13).
