Benedict Cumberbatch and his new bride enjoyed a low-key start to their honeymoon on Britain's Isle of Wight following their Valentine's Day (14Feb15) wedding.

The Imitation Game star, 38, married his pregnant partner Sophie Hunter, 36, at a medieval church on the island off the south coast of England on the most romantic day of the year in front of friends including Tom Hiddleston and Martin Freeman.

According to Britain's The Sun newspaper, Hunter walked down the aisle to the poem The Bluebird by Mary Coleridge and guests sung three hymns including Jerusalem. As the newlyweds signed the register, the choir sang Beati Quorum Via by Stanford and William Blake poem The Lamb.

A candle lighting ceremony took place shortly afterwards as part of a blessing service, before celebrations began at the reception in nearby Mottistone Manor.

It has now emerged that instead of jetting off on a luxury honeymoon immediately after the ceremony, the newlyweds spent their first hours as man and wife on the Isle of Wight.

They were pictured enjoying lunch together on Sunday (15Feb15) at a pub close to the church where they wed, but they are due to jet out to the U.S. in time for the Academy Awards next Sunday (22Feb15).

The couple is set to become parents over the summer (15).
