British actor Benedict Cumberbatch has denied rumours he is scouting for homes in Los Angeles.

The Sherlock star was reportedly seen house-hunting in the Hidden Hills neighbourhood of California in December (14), sparking rumours he is planning to leave London for the U.S. as he lands more roles in Hollywood.

Cumberbatch has now denied a planned move Stateside, insisting he has no intention of leaving London because his pregnant fiancee, actress/director Sophie Hunter, lives in the British capital.

He tells Britain's The Independent newspaper, "My friends are here, my family are here, Sophie is here; it doesn't make sense to uproot my whole life... I can travel for work, but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else full-time."

Cumberbatch and Hunter announced last month (Jan15) that they are expecting their first child.
