The Lone Survivor star portrays an ex-convict opposite Chris Pine in the David Mackenzie movie, and he felt sporting a chipped tooth would make his character more authentic.

"I had pre-ordered a drill from Amazon (and sent it) to David's apartment in Albuquerque (New Mexico)," Foster tells The Hollywood Reporter. "I said, 'I'm going to take down my tooth.' He said, 'Great!' I got out the drill, and we were laughing about it. I took out my buck knife and shaved my beard off into a handlebar (moustache). Maybe we had a few cocktails, I'm not telling."

However, his new look did not sit well with the film's producers and they made him cap the tooth - but he still added his own flair.

"Rather than get it back to normal, I had the tooth extended a little bit, made it extra-long," he says. "And I had it yellowed."
