The Bee Gees, Latino accordionist Flaco Jimenez and late Beatle George Harrison will be among the music icons honoured with Grammy Special Merit awards next year (15).

The three acts will join French composer Pierre Boulez, Buddy Guy, the Louvin Brothers and jazz great Wayne Shorter on the merit list as part of the pre-Grammy Awards festivities in February (14).

Meanwhile, producer Richard Perry, songwriting duo Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil and jazz promoter and producer George Wein will be honoured with Trustees Awards, and author, scientist and inventor Ray Kurzweil will pick up the 2015 Technical Grammy Award.

The trophies will be handed out during a special invitation-only ceremony which will be held during Grammy Week on 7 February (15), and a formal acknowledgement will be made during the 57th annual Grammy Awards telecast the following day.
