Fans of late Beatles guitarist George Harrison have had their hopes of transforming their icon's boyhood home into a shrine dashed by its current owner.

Admirers of the SOMETHING singer wanted to pay tribute to the star by placing a plaque at the house in Liverpool, England - but KATHLEEN HUGHES is refusing to give permission because she doesn't want to attract more attention.

Harrison died of cancer in November 2001, aged 58.

Hughes, 66, says, "I don't want a plaque. It's my home, not a museum. I feel under siege."

A fan counters, "This woman's refusal is disrespectful to his memory."
