A sculpture celebrating the relationship between THE Beatles and Russia was unveiled at The Beatles Story museum Liverpool, England on Tuesday (21Aug07). Russian artist Nikolay Rogatnev has named his work The Music Of The Beatles Unites The Earth, and was inspired by the disapproval Beatles fans encountered in Russia when they tried to buy the group's albums in the 1960s. Rogatnev hopes similar sculptures will now be displayed in other cities closely linked to Beatles history - Liverpool is the band's hometown - such as Hamburg, Germany, where the band performed a longterm residency in the early 1960s, and New York, where John Lennon was murdered.
