Former Bay City Rollers manager TAM PATON told his drugs trial jury he had scales in his bedroom to weigh his jewellery. The 67-year-old is accused of supplying cannabis resin from his luxury home in Edinburgh, Scotland. Police claim to have recovered eight blocks of cannabis resin, 300 grams of herbal cannabis plus a set of scales, during a raid on his house in 2004. Paton told the court the drugs were planted and the scales were "to weigh my jewellery". He said yesterday (22JUN06), "I have a fascination for gold jewellery. I have rings and bracelets. I'm not like Scrooge weighing it all the time." The trial at Edinburgh Sheriff Court continues.
