THE COWSILLS singer Barry Cowsill is still missing from his New Orleans home, two months after Hurricane Katrina ravaged America's Gulf Coast.

The 51-year-old member of the 1960s singing group moved to the city shortly before the natural disaster in August (05). He left a message on his sister SUSAN's mobile phone in the aftermath of the hurricane asking for help, but hasn't been heard from since.

When his house was checked it was found to be damaged but Cowsill was nowhere to be seen.

Family friend VICKY SEDGWICK says, "Barry is not the only one. There are thousands of people still missing."

Cowsill has long struggled with his former image as a teen idol was preparing to check into rehab for alcoholism in Los Angeles the day after the hurricane struck.

The Cowsills are widely recognised as the inspiration behind 1970s TV sensation The Partridge Family, and were famous for hits like The Rain, The Park And Other Things.
