The singer reveals she recently approached Apple boss Tim Cook and asked him to make sure the company's all-knowing voice helper got her name right.

"She pronounces my name wrong - it's Streisand with a soft 's', like sand on the beach," the singer and actress tells U.S. radio network NPR. "I've been saying this for my whole career.

"So what did I do? I called the head of Apple, Tim Cook, and he delightfully agreed to have Siri change the pronunciation of my name, finally, with the next update on September 30th. So let's see if that happens, because I would be thrilled."

In the new interview, the diva also promotes her new album, ENCORE: Movie Partners Sing Broadway, which features duets with Hugh Jackman, Jamie Foxx, Chris Pine, Alec Baldwin, and Antonio Banderas, among others.

Barbra admits she really enjoyed singing Climb Every Mountain with Foxx, explaining, "A great song for me is one I can act, that I can go into character for... (With Climb Every Mountain) I was trying to find a way into something that was very well known and trying to find a new way into the lyric."

And she faced a challenge performing Anything You Can Do from the musical Annie, Get Your Gun with Ghostbusters star Melissa MCCarthy, revealing, "She said, 'Barbra, I can't sing!' I said, 'We'll make you sing'. We kind of adapted the song to her and me and we got it the way I think is right."

The odd couple got along famously in the studio and the song ends with MCCarthy asking, "Can I call you Babs now?" to which her new pal jokes, "No, too soon!"

The new album is released on 26 August (16).
