Barbara Walters' daughter was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence on Sunday (19.05.13).
Jacqueline Danforth - the legendary US talk show host's adopted daughter with her second husband Lee Gruber - was pulled over by police officers in Naples, Florida, and charged with a DUI, but was later released after paying a $1,000 bond, according to the Collier County Sheriff's Office.
The arrest marks Jacqueline's first brush with the law as an adult, but the 44-year-old had a troubled childhood, including drug and alcohol abuse, as detailed by her adoptive mother in her autobiography and numerous interviews.
In a 2003 interview with NBC, Barbara, 83, revealed Jacqueline ran away from home as a teenager but said she kept the matter quiet because it ''might have made things worse.''
The 'View' host's daughter admitted to her wild child past in the same interviewing, saying she would miss school and party late into the night at New York City club Studio 54 when she was just 13.
Jacqueline soon began drinking and abusing substances and blames her wayward years on feeling abandoned by her biological mother and not fitting into her mother's glitzy showbiz lifestyle.
She said: ''I did marijuana. It was called crank then, but it's now methamphetamines. Quaaludes were all over the place. Valium. And the drugs numbed all the other feelings. But it didn't take away the issues that I had. They got bigger and bigger. I was more and more isolated from my mom's world.''
