Bar Refaeli, the Israeli model and occasional actress, has split from her boyfriend Leonardo Di Caprio. Bar Refaeli, who was the cover model of the 2009 'Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue', broke up with the Hollywood actor last week after going through "a rough patch", reports the New York Post's Page Six.
The break-up brings to an end the couple's four year relationship, although they went on a brief hiatus in 2009 but rekindled their romance last year. A source close to the couple said, "It was amicable, they're still friends and they are still talking. They just grew apart and went their separate ways". The couple reportedly first met at a party in Las Vegas in 2005, thrown by members of the Irish band U2. At the time, Di Caprio had just ended his relationship with the Brazilian model Gisele Bundchen. The source added that neither the actor nor Refaeli were "ready to settle down", adding, "They both have busy careers that have been taking them in different directions". Speculation of a break up first began to intensify after Di Caprio had a 'boys weekend' with Bradley Cooper and Ryan Kavanaugh in Mexico last month, and he failed to accompany the model to New York's Met Gala last week, instead choosing to party at the Standard Hotel with friends.
Bar Refaeli recently made her feature film debut in the English-language movie 'Session', directed by Israeli filmmaker Haim Bouzaglo. The psychological thriller tells the story of a manipulative psychologist who becomes obsessed with a new patient.
