Bam Margera, the American reality star whose best friend Ryan Dunn was killed in a car accident on Monday, has blasted film critic Roger Ebert for his comments on the crash. Bam Margera lost his friend and co-star after Dunn's Porsche 911 careered into a tree and burst into flames in Pennsylvania.
Shortly before the fatal crash, Dunn had tweeted an image of himself drinking with two friends, allegedly at a local bar. After news of the daredevil's death began to circulate, Ebert tweeted, "friends don't let jackasses drink and drive". The film critic came in for heavy criticism for the timing of his comment, most notably from Margera, who tweeted, "I just lost my best friend, I have been crying hysterical for a full day and piece of sh*t roger ebert has the gall to put in his 2 cents". He later added, ".Millions of people are crying right now, shut your fat f*cking mouth!" After celebrity blogger Perez Hilton also questioned Ebert's reasoning, the film critic attempted to defend himself, saying, "Perez Hilton's readers agree with me and not with Perez about my tweet on Ryan Dunn. He drank, he drove, 2 people died".
Bam Margera's mother April was the first to confirm Dunn's death to a local radio station. She had reportedly described the reality star as "like a son", noting that he called her every Mother's Day.
