Swedish dance music superstar Avicii has delayed gallbladder surgery in order to honour his weekend (08-10Mar13) performing commitments in Australia.

The Dj jetted into Brisbane last weekend (02-03Mar13) but was taken straight to a medical facility after suffering "stomach related issues".

He cancelled his appearances at the multi-site Future Music Festival in Brisbane and Perth on Saturday (02Mar13) and Sunday (03Mar13), and on Thursday (07Mar13) he told fans he had been deemed well enough to leave hospital.

However, he is facing surgery to have his gallbladder removed after putting off the procedure in order to perform as planned in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide this weekend.

In a series of posts on his Twitter.com page, he writes, "Finally out of the hospital and on recovery mode and trying to pull everything together in order to do as many shows as possible!

"I'm also really sorry for everyone who wanted to see me in Brisbane and Perth, I really did everything I could days prior to get better but I wasn't allowed to leave hospital until now. I was gonna (sic) remove my gallbladder now which might be behind all of this too, but luckily I'm able to do that at a later time! Right now I'm just really relieved to be out of the hospital and to be able do the shows that I can."
