Christopher Null was born in Houston, Texas, and is best known as the founder of Filmcritic.com in 1995, and one of the founding members of the Online Film Critics Society in 1997. Null studied at the University of Texas at Austin, earning a Master of Business Administration. 

Filmcritic.com ran from 1995 to 2012, building a strong audience for its reviews, criticism, stories and interviews. In 2009, Null sold the website to AMC Television, before founding a new site, Film Racket, in 2013.

In 2002, Null published a novel entitled ‘Half Mast’, before releasing a film criticism guide ‘Five Stars!’ in 2005.
