Audrey Hepburn's passionate smooch with George Peppard in BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S has been voted the best screen kiss ever.

The 1961 classic beat out competition from kisses in more recent movies including SPIDER-MAN and Cold Mountain.

In second place is the moment when Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore get passionate during a bout of pottery in 1990's Ghost.

And third - in the poll of more than 4,000 movie fans by British film rental chain BLOCKBUSTER - went to Vivien Leigh and Clark Gable's climactic kiss in the 1939 civil war classic Gone With The Wind.

Blockbuster's SARAH BAXTER says, "We all love to live out our fantasies through the stories we encounter in movies.

"St Valentine's Day (14FEB04) is the perfect opportunity to imagine an earth-shattering kiss with out favourite movie star - even if we are enjoying that movie snuggled up next to our partner on the sofa."
