Actress Audra McDonald is set to reprise her role as legendary jazz singer Billie Holiday in a Tv special of hit Broadway show Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill.
MCDonald won her sixth Tony Award earlier this year (14) for playing the iconic singer in the production, which ended its run in October (14).
Now she will step into Holiday's shoes yet again when she performs the play in front of a live audience in New Orleans, Louisiana this month (Dec14). The performance will be taped and will air on America's HBO network.
Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill centres on one of Holiday's last performances at a small Philadelphia bar shortly before her death in 1959 at the age of 44.
