Ashton Kutcher surprised the director of his upcoming Steve Jobs biopic by showing off his extensive knowledge of the technology industry on the set.

The Hollywood actor plays the late Apple boss in upcoming movie Jobs, and he brought his own know-how to the role as he has spent years researching and investing in technology companies, including music streaming service Spotify.

The film's director Joshua Michael Stern has now revealed Kutcher's experience came in useful during filming, telling New York Post gossip column Page Six, "He knew everything there was to know about everything that was going on, even historically, about the technology we used. I walked onto a set once and there was a computer processor that was there as set dressing and he removed it and said, 'This wasn't invented for two more years.'"
