Ashton Kutcher made light of David Letterman's death threat scare during an appearance on the TV star's chat show on Wednesday (24Aug11), by donning a helmet and bulletproof vest for the interview.
The Late Show host returned to the show on Monday (22Aug11) following a two-week vacation, during which an extremist named Umar al-Basrawi urged fellow Muslims to "cut the tongue of this lowly Jew" after Letterman poked fun at alleged terrorist leader Ilyas Kashmiri, who was killed during a U.S. airstrike in Pakistan in June (11).
The threat against the TV personality, who is not Jewish, was made on Shumukh-al-Islam - a popular Internet destination for radical Muslims.
And Kutcher joked about the threat by turning up for his slot on Letterman's show wearing protective gear, along with a sign which read, "Not Dave".
He added, "You can't be too careful sitting next to a guy that's been fatwa-ed."
