Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen didn't want anyone to know they were the brains behind The Row.

The 25-year-old twins - who have also become well-respected within The Fashion industry thanks to their lines Elizabeth and James and Olsenboye - think it was "far more fun" not to lend their faces to the collection, and initially even considered hiring someone to front the brand.

Ashley explained: "We didn't want people to know that we were behind it.

"We'd learnt so much about building brands and talking to a specific customer. We did it with our faces at the beginning, and we knew we didn't want to do that any more. It's far more fun this way."

The pair - who have been famous since they were nine months old - also admitted they first learned about fashion and "precise" tailoring when they were children, as they used to have adult clothes from designer labels such as CHANEL cut down to fit them.

Ashley added to the Daily Telegraph newspaper: "We loved it! We'd go through racks and racks of clothes, and hours of fittings.

"When you cut something down that small, it has to be precise. So we've always been really interested in fit. And over the years we've become more educated in fabrics and make, and appreciating those small details. That's where we start from now, always - what feels right.'
