The Double Jeopardy star attended a University of Kentucky Wildcats game on Sunday (15Mar14) and posted a message online accusing the opposition of "playing dirty".

Judd received a barrage of hateful, vulgar tweets in response to her comment, some of which she reposted, and she is now pressing charges against the alleged perpetrators.

She tells MSNBC Live, "Well apparently I'm a 'whore'. I've been called the c-word... The way things happen on social media is so abusive. Everyone needs to take personal responsibility for what they write and not allowing this misinterpretation and shaming culture on social media to persist. And by the way, I'm pressing charges."

During a later interview with NBC News reporter Craig Melvin, she adds, "A significant part of my day today will be spent filing police reports at home about gender violence that's directed at me on social media... "

Melvin appeared on U.S. morning show Today on Tuesday (17Mar15) to discuss their interview and added that Judd "does not anticipate these cases are going to be prosecuted vigorously but she wants to send the message".
