Pop star Ashlee Simpson has a ghost to thank for one track on her new album - because she wrote the tune after a night of terror at her old Hollywood home.
The singer spent a sleepless night in the home she leased from her parents before hitting the studio to write - and couldn't get her spectre out of her mind.
She explains, "I swore there was a ghost in the house. I know it sounds a little crazy but my mom thought there was one too.
"We kind of made a joke of it and called her SHELLY but I was really scared.
"It didn't feel like something mean, I just felt like there was something in my house."
