Ariana Grande's grandma predicted her American Music Awards win.

The 22-year-old singer has revealed her ''Nonna'' told her she already knew she was going to win the Best Female Pop/Rock Artist of the Year prize before it was even announced.

Recalling what her grandmother Marjorie said to her, she shared: '''Ariana, I went on the computer. I voted, so I think you'll win.' ''

After beating other stars including Meghan Trainor and Taylor Swift to win the award, the 'Break Free' hitmaker dedicated it to her grandmother.

She said: ''I just want to thank my fans - I have the most incredible fans. Ew I'm crying! But I love you guys. Thank you so, so much.

''I also want to say thank you to my family who are here tonight. I owe a lot of this to my Nonna!''

Ariana ditched her trademark ponytail in favour of a sophisticated Hollywood glamour look at the annual awards ceremony.

She also made her first televised performance of her track 'Focus', during which she asked a lucky member of the audience to remove one of her gloves with his teeth.
