Soul legend Aretha Franklin is using her new record label to sign up her favourite artists for a duets album.

The singer and BMG chairman Clive Davis are teaming up to record soul classics with Franklin and a host of big names - on the star's new ARETHA'S RECORDS label.

Aretha says, "Clive and I are working on a duets album and I'm also going to do three or four new cuts for that."

Among others, Aretha will sing with Gloria Estefan and Mariah Carey.

She admits she's also trying to negotiate a deal which will team her up with Outkast.

She says, "I like what I hear now. I'm very happy with it, and I think it's alive and well. I love OutKast. I think they are just wild, I love them. I love the beat."
