Legendary singer Aretha Franklin is back on her feet after a recent health crisis and ready to celebrate her 69th birthday in New York City on Friday (25Mar11).
The Queen of Soul underwent surgery in December (10) following a mystery health crisis, but now she's ready to return to the spotlight.
She will kick off her birthday evening by taking in a performance of the Broadway play Driving Miss Daisy, which stars James Earl Jones and Vanessa Redgrave, before heading to top hotel Tuesday at the Helmsley Park Lane for a star-studded party with 100 of her closest friends, reports the New York Daily News.
Catching Jones on the stage seems to be a reoccurring birthday tradition for Franklin - she celebrated her 66th birthday watching the star perform in the Tennessee Williams' hit play Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.
