Sheffield band Arctic Monkeys have charted at number seven in the US Billboard charts, their highest album entry so far.
Released by Domino Records, Favourite Worst Nightmare sold 44,000 copies in its first week, 10,000 more than their debut album Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not.
According to Billboard, this impressive performance was partly fuelled by their single Brianstorm, which is the first track to be taken from the new record.
Brianstorm currently tops the Hot Singles sales tally and rounds off an impressive first week for the Monkeys' new material.
The band will kick off their North American tour tomorrow, beginning in Vancouver and calling at New York, Boston, Chicago and the Hard Rock Live venue in Orlando.
In the UK, Favourite Worst Nightmare outsold the rest of the top 20 albums on the first day of its release.
All of the individual tracks from the album also charted, as well as a number of tracks from their debut.
The Monkeys are scheduled to headline T In The Park and Glastonbury this year.
