British rockers Arctic Monkeys have hired a huge tent to shelter fans at their homecoming gigs this weekend (10-12Jun11) in case the shows are marred by torrential rain in the gloomy northern city.
The Fluorescent Adolescent hitmakers hail from Sheffield, England and will play to crowds of 10,000 at an outdoor venue on Friday (10Jun11) and Saturday (11Jun11) to mark the release of their new album, Suck It and See.
They have decided to hire a huge tent to cover the audience during the shows, as the city frequently suffers downpours even during summer months.
Frontman Alex Turner tells NME magazine, "It were (sic) the tent that sealed it. Because it usually rains. You need rain at a gig like you need mustard on your index finger. The show must go on, and all that."
