Arcade Fire frontman WIN BUTLER has undergone a successful operation after a string of health problems.
The Rebellion (Lies) singer, who turned 27 on Saturday (14Apr07), had been suffering from a sinus and bronchial infection for three months prior to the March (07) decision to cancel the Canadian's band's European tour.
Writing on the group's official website, Butler says he's feeling better following surgery.
He enthuses, "Just wanted to let you all know that the surgery was successful, and I am recovering nicely. I will probably start singing again this week some time to try and get ready for the shows in North America.
"It has been a blessing in disguise to be forced to stay at home and read, and sleep and I have even started work on some new songs."
