The Latin heartthrob leads the way with 12 nods ahead of the glitzy prizegiving, with Enrique on 11, and the pair will face off against each other for the coveted Artist of the Year prize along with Juan Gabriel and Nicky Jam.

Nicky Jam is also a big contender at this year's (16) show will 11 nods, along with Marc Anthony and Ricky Martin, who both have six.

Ricky has scored a mention in the Top Latin Album of the Year category for A Quien Quiera Escuchar, and will face Gerardo Ortiz (Hoy Mas Fuerte), Juan Gabriel (Los Duo), and Mana (Cama Incendiada) for the prize.

Jennifer Lopez and Shakira are also among the competitors, and will battle each other for the Hot Latin Songs Artist of the Year, Female title, and the Crossover Artist of the Year prize will be a battle between Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber, OMI, and The Weeknd.

The awards will be handed out during a ceremony in Miami Beach, Florida in April (16).
