SIR Anthony Hopkins and Ryan Gosling fell out on the set of new thriller Fracture because the veteran disapproved of his young co-star's over-analysis. The Notebook star Gosling insisted on having lengthy method acting discussions about tense scenes and Hopkins quickly tired of the idea. Hopkins explains, "He wanted to become involved in the analysis of the plot and all that. I was concerned we were going to talk it into oblivion. I get so bored: 'For God's sake, shoot it!'" The Silence Of The Lambs star Hopkins eventually apologised for his comments when the two stars came together again to reshoot the film's ending. He adds, "I said I misunderstood this, and I could see now what he was fighting for."
