SIR Anthony Hopkins hates mixing with fellow stars because he's alternately terrified and bored in their presence. Despite winning an Oscar for his acting talents in 1992, the veteran British star finds it hard to perform with A-list colleagues when the cameras are turned off. He says of a meeting with Dame Judi Dench, "(I was) paralysed with fear", and he turned down dinner with Mission: Impossible II co-star Tom Cruise because he couldn't work up the enthusiasm for their likely conversation. He says, "I didn't want to sit around with actors talking about how wonderful they all are - it's pretty boring."
