British wartime singing star Anne Ziegler has died - she was 93.

Ziegler formed a successful double act with husband WEBSTER BOOTH in the 1940s and the couple enchanted audiences with their combination of popular ballads and light operetta pieces for the next twenty years.

Booth died in 1984, leaving his wife devastated but philosophical. She said at the time, "These have been 50 marvelous years. My only regret is that there could not be 50 more."

Ziegler died in Colwyn Bay, Wales last Monday (13OCT03) according to funeral directors. No cause of death was announced.
