A clerical error could have spoiled one of the Golden Globes biggest surprises, and given actress Anne Hathaway every reason to start celebrating early.
On its official website on Thursday (08Jan09), the Hollywood Foreign Press Association - which runs the awards show - listed all the nominees, but there was a star next to Hathaway's name in the Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama category.
The HFPA is refusing to comment on what the star means, but it suggests that Hathaway could be golden come Sunday (11Jan09) when the awards are handed out.
Her performance in Rachel Getting Married earned her a nomination last month (Dec08). She's up against Meryl Streep, Kate Winslet, Angelina Jolie and Kristin Scott Thomas.
But even the star sign won't make Hathaway believe she's a winner - the modest star is convinced Streep, her The Devil Wears Prada co-star, will walk off with the big prize: "There's just no touching her."
