The Oscar winner became a first-time mother when her son Jonathan was born eight weeks ago, and Anne is already back in Hollywood star shape as she promotes her new film Alice Through the Looking Glass - and she admits she enjoyed hitting the treadmill and the weight room again.

"I work out in West Hollywood, so you see, like, Thor's trainer, you know, the people who have too many muscles to be in The Avengers... that's who works out at my gym," the 33-year-old actress told U.S. chat show host Ellen DeGeneres.

"I would normally walk in and feel so intimidated. But I walk in I'm like, 'Yeah, I work out with five pound weights, but I pushed a baby out of my body, I feel good right now... I don't care what I look like, I feel great.'"

But the good vibes didn't last long and a trainer upset the Les Miserables star when she told him she was a new mum - and didn't quite get the response she was hoping for.

"I'm expecting him to say the thing that you say when someone says they've had a baby, which is, 'Oh my God, you look great!'" she said. "(It) doesn't matter if it's true. If somebody says, 'I had a baby 13 years ago,' you say, 'You look great'. That is what you do. That is the etiquette.

"So I say to this guy, 'I had a baby seven weeks ago', and he goes, 'Oh, trying to lose the baby weight?' I muster up my dignity and say... 'It's a little too soon to worry about weight, I'm just trying to regain my strength', and he went, 'Great!' and he walked away and I cried a little bit."

Despite the knock to her confidence, Anne proved she was already bouncing back from her baby body by showing off the results of her hard work, looking sensational at the Alice Through the Looking Glass premiere in Los Angeles on Monday (24May16), when she walked the red carpet in a figure-hugging Christopher Kane dress with floral print detail.
